Independent The Suffolk East Coast Branch of the RSPCA was formed in 1898, when it was known as the East Coast Constable Branch. It is one of 174 branches in England & Wales, each one an independent individual charity operating under RSPCA and branch rules and raising money in its own area to be spent entirely locally. Our annual running costs are funded exclusively by voluntary donations and legacies, we receive no government or lottery support.
Area The branch boundaries are: The county boundary in the north, from the sea to just west of Bungay, then; A curving line going south and then southeast, passing west of Saxmundham and meeting the coast at Thorpeness The branch office is above the shop in Lowestoft

Management The branch is headed by a committee of volunteer trustees who are elected annually at the AGM from the Branch membership. The day-to-day work of the branch is organised by two part-time Rehoming Co-ordinators and a full time Shop Manager, who rely heavily on dedicated volunteers to carry out a variety of roles such as fostering, home checking, shop work, fundraising and much more. Volunteers are the backbone of our branch, without them there would be no branch and no help for our local animals. If you would like to volunteer or to become a trustee please see the How You Can Help page.
